1. Donald Trump and 18 allies were indicted in Georgia on Monday with scheming to overturn his 2020 election loss in the state. Trump and Young Thug both face RICO charges headed by the same District Attorney, Fulton County’s Fani Willis. (PH)
2. Six new civil lawsuits have been filed against the Roman Catholic Bishop of Portland alleging childhood sexual abuse. The new lawsuits are added on top of the 24 lawsuits already filed across the state of Maine. Some of the priests named in the latest lawsuits were allegedly sent to “rehabilitation programs” by the Portland Diocese. (WMTW)
3. A woman lost control of her 2017 GMC Terrain, went over a median, hit a shopping cart corral and then crashed into three parked vehicles at the Hannaford in Yarmouth. The crash pushed one of the vehicles up against another woman who was loading her groceries, leaving her trapped. Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life tool to separate the vehicles and free the woman. (WMTW)
4. Maine is close to becoming one of just a few states to provide a retirement savings program to workers who don’t have access to one through their jobs. The Maine Retirement Savings Program will provide a way for Mainers to contribute to a Roth individual retirement account directly from their paychecks. The full program is expected to be phased in through January 2026. (PH)
