1. Two people who were on board a 48-foot-long yacht when it caught fire and sank off the coast of Georgetown on Saturday were rescued and brought to safety by local fishermen. The lobster boats arrived first and were able to pull both people out of the ocean. By the time the Coast Guard crew arrived, the yacht had sunk. (PH)
2. The Gray-New Gloucester/Raymond Little League lost to Media, Pennsylvania Saturday 5-3 in their second game at the Little League World Series and have been eliminated from the tournament. The game was tied going into the 6th and final inning. Media scored 2 runs to win the game. (WMTW)
3. Spain has won the Women’s World Cup. They defeated England in a 1-0 final Sunday in Australia. Less than a year ago, a player rebellion jeopardized Spain’s chances for a World Cup run. Fifteen players stepped away for their own mental health and called for better conditions with the team. (ABC)
4. According to the Farmers’ Almanac, it’s time to prepare for the cold winter ahead. The Almanac is forecasting blizzards will hit northern New England in early December. Longtime fans claim the publication’s weather predictions are accurate approximately 80-85% of the time. (USAToday)
