1. Burning Man, the art festival held in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert, faced severe flooding due to heavy rain. On Saturday, festival goers were told to shelter in place and conserve food, water, and fuel. Police have opened an investigation into a death report on the festival grounds. Brigid Rankowski, of Portland told the Press Herald her time at the festival was great and that she’d do it again. (PH)
2. Crews have recovered the body of a man who drowned on Sebago Lake. Ahmed Doale stepped into deep water and became submerged when he attempted to push his boat free from shore. (WMTW)
3. Just last week, the Maine DOT took down a homeless encampment near Deering Oaks Park for safety reasons. Tomorrow they will be clearing one out at Fore River Parkway. 130 beds have been offered at the Homeless Service Center. (WGME)
