1. Tim Wakefield, a two-time World Series champion, has died at the age of 57. The Red Sox announced his death in a statement Sunday. “Wake embodied true goodness: a devoted husband, father, and teammate, beloved broadcaster, and the ultimate community leader. 2. Federal student loan payments are resuming this month after a 3 year pause due to the pandemic. People can log in to their account at StudentAid.gov to check their balance, payment amount, and who their current loan servicer is. (AP)
3. The Portland International Jetport was shut down for nearly an hour Sunday morning after a man crashed a vehicle through an airport fire gate and drove on a runway for about a half-mile before crashing into a fence. The car was found with no one inside. The driver of the vehicle was later arrested by Portland police and is facing four criminal charges related to the incident. (PH)
4. More than 4,000 runners from 46 states and eight countries hit the streets Sunday for the 32nd Maine Marathon. This year’s race raised more than $600,000 which will benefit about 60 local charities. (NCM)
5. The Powerball jackpot climbed to an estimated $1.04 billion after no players hit it big Saturday night. The jackpot for tonight’s drawing is the world’s ninth-largest lottery prize of all time. (WMTW)
