2. The Portland Fire Department responded to a generator explosion on board a cruise ship along the waterfront Wednesday morning. One person was burned when the generator exploded, sparking a small fire in the engine room. They were taken to the hospital with what fire officials called serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

3. Authorities are looking for information regarding several puppies that were abandoned in Buxton. Police say four pups were found on the side of the road. They are currently being cared for at the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland. Any information about where they may have come from or any knowledge of a mother dog that may have had puppies, should be sent to Animal Control Officer Perkins at Buxton Dispatch. (WGME)
4. Bangor Floral handed out pairs of free flowers to people who walked by in downton Bangor yesterday. It’s all part of a national effort called Petal it Forward. The idea is that those who accept the flowers keep one themselves and give the other one to someone else. Owner Joseph Langlois says a survey showed 80% of people reported that getting flowers made them happy, and 88% said gifting flowers made them happy. (WABI)
