1. March brought record-setting sports wagering in Maine, but also a decline in state revenues. 3. U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced a recall on 16,000 pounds of beef products that were sold at Walmart stores nationwide over a possible E. coli contamination. All of the recalled products have “EST. 86P” printed on the back of the label.You’re advised to throw any of the beef away. Also, clean and sanitize any areas the beef may have touched. (NW)
4. An iconic Maine seafood shack is now open for the season. Wednesday was opening day for Red’s Eats in Wiscasset. Boston.com, a website owned by the Boston Globe, named Red’s Eats as the best lobster roll in New England in 2023. (WGME)
