1. A 25-year-old Auburn man was arrested early Saturday after police said he caused up to $90,000 in damage to dozens of vehicles at the Rowe car dealership on Center Street. A caller advised dispatchers that “the sooner police arrived, the less damage there would be.” Officers could hear loud smashing sounds in the background of the call. When officers arrived, they found the man swinging a weighted backpack and smashing the windshields and hoods of several cars in the lot. (WMTW)
2. Portland elementary students cut ribbons outside Presumpscot, Reiche, and Longfellow elementary schools on Saturday to celebrate the completion of new renovations at the schools. New additions include interactive screens in classrooms, microphones for teachers, expanded office spaces, and designated one-on-one learning spaces. (WMTW)

4. A deep radio signal has reached Earth after 8 billion years. This fast radio burst is believed to be one of the most powerful signals to ever reach our planet. This comes after 35 bursts believed to be a billion light-years away reached Earth last year.
