Freedom for Young Thug (kind of)! Yesterday, he changed his plea in the YSL RICO case to guilty. With his reversal, Judge Paige Whitaker sentenced Thugger to 40 years, but there’s more to it.
The sentence would have forced Young Thug to a mandatory 5 years in jail, but Judge Whitaker commuted the sentence to time served. Now, Young Thug must complete 15 years of probation. If not completed, the time could revert to 20 years in custody.
During the probation, he must perform community service and have no contact with affiliated gang members. He must also stay out of Atlanta, unless he’s in the city for a wedding or funeral. Young Thug told the court, “I know what I bring to the table, and I know what I am. I know the heights I’ve reached, and I know the impact I’ve got on people in the community.”
Thugger had been in jail since May 2022. So happy for him!
