1. Ukrainian President Zelensky visited the White House yesterday. During Zelensky’s visit, President Biden announced the U.S. will provide an additional $1.85 billion in aid to Ukraine, including the advanced Patriot missile system. The trip marks the first time Zelensky has traveled outside his nation since Russia’s invasion. (JN)

2. After a five hour public hearing, the top Republican in the Maine Senate voted to advance a heating aid package, paving the way for passage when the Legislature convenes early next month. This would include $450 relief checks for most Mainers. (WGME)

3. In Maine, the CDC says there were 73 schools in a flu outbreak as of last Friday. 22 schools had a COVID outbreak. Children’s cold and flu medicine can be difficult to come by right now. CVS and Walgreens have started limiting purchases. (WGME)

4. Maine’s Cooper Flagg has been named Male Athlete of the Year by USA Basketball. Flagg helped Nokomis High School of Newport win its first basketball state title in March. He helped lead the U-17 National Team to a gold medal last summer. USA Basketball’s Male Athlete of the Year’s past list of winners includes basketball superstars Michael Jordan, Lebron James and Kevin Durant. (WMTW)
