Elmo and his Sesame Street neighbors appeared on a CNN Town Hall Saturday morning. They learned about racism and the reasons for the nationwide protests. “Not all streets are like Sesame Street,” Elmo’s dad Louie said. “What we are seeing is people saying, ‘Enough is enough.’ They want to end racism,” Louie told Elmo. Abby Cadabby revealed how Big Bird had once been bullied because of his yellow feathers. “Like a lot of people I’m very upset,” she said. Longtime Sesame Street neighbors Gordon and Maria also appeared. They said it was frustrating to be fighting the “same issues that we dealt with on Sesame Street in 1969.”
