Former First Lady Michelle Obama will co-host a virtual Roots Picnic with the band The Roots. On Tuesday, Obama announced that her nonprofit, When We All Vote, was partnering with the band, which will also serve as a voter registration drive. “Couldn’t be more excited that @whenweallvote is teaming up to co-host @TheRoots Picnic on June 27!,” she tweeted. “Join us and get registered to vote…” Performers will include H.E.R., Lil Baby, SZA and Roddy Ricch; Kerry Washington, Tom Hanks and others will appear too. The Roots Festival will take place on June 27 on YouTube at 8 p.m. Attendees are asked to RSVP on The Roots’ website.
