In honor of Giving Tuesday yesterday, Allagash Brewing Company announced a 5-year philanthropic commitment of $100K to their nonprofit partner, In Her Presence! They are a women founded and led organization bringing together immigrant women from across communities and generations to ensure that their aspirations and needs are included in Maine’s economic agenda.
Allagash’s financial commitment to In Her Presence will help to support their holistic programs, which include:
- Contextual English language education
- Support to help enter into desired career paths, such as career counseling, resume and interview guidance, support transferring accreditation or licensing, and more.
- Professional and leadership development
“Allagash has been a consistent champion of our work. From starting an internship to partnering with us to bring meaningful cultural training and conversations to Allagash employees, their multifaceted support has helped amplify our mission and maximize our impact,” said Claudette Ndayininahaze, Founder, In Her Presence.
In addition to a passion for community, Allagash Founder Rob Tod and In Her Presence Founder Claudette Ndayininahaze also share another important thing in common – a love for beer, and the community that surrounds it. Claudette came to America as an executive with 15 years of experience in the brewing industry back in her home of Burundi, and says her work in beer fostered her passion for supporting others. But when she arrived in Maine, she found that the language barrier made it difficult to find a supportive network. So, Claudette decided to lift herself by lifting others.
“By starting In Her Presence, Claudette and team are building community for immigrant women in Maine, as well as providing valuable resources and programming so they can thrive in their new home both professionally and personally,” said Celine Frueh, VP of Human Resources and Organizational Development, Allagash Brewing Company.
