For the second consecutive season, the Maine Celtics find themselves competing in the G League Playoffs.
Under the leadership of head coach Blaine Mueller, the Celtics concluded the regular season with an impressive 10-2 stretch, including a notable six-game winning streak, culminating in a 21-13 overall record. In a remarkable display of resilience during their final regular-season game, trailing by 10 points entering the fourth quarter, Maine’s defense held strong, limiting the Texas Legends to a mere 11 points in the final frame. Jordan Walsh’s decisive free throws secured a narrow one-point victory, earning the Celtics a coveted first-round bye and the advantage of homecourt in the subsequent round.
As a result, instead of competing in a first-round match and then hitting the road for the second round, the Celtics enjoyed a week of valuable practice at home before their upcoming encounter with the sixth-seeded Delaware Blue Coats. Maine enters the matchup having prevailed in three out of four meetings during the regular season against the Blue Coats.
Maine Celtics forward Brandon Slater recently visited the Maine Made studios to share insights on the season and rally support for the team’s impending playoff journey. He extended a warm invitation to fans, urging them to come out and show their support at the Expo on Thursday at 7 pm.
