Today for If You Can Hear Her, You Can Be Her, I spoke with Michelle Bruckner, a multifaceted performer whose career has taken her from Broadway stages to creative projects in Maine!
Michelle shared highlights from her time in show business, including making her Broadway debut in the musical Chicago and touring across Europe with Damn Yankees. Those experiences helped shape her understanding of the entertainment industry and the many different paths a career in the arts can take.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Michelle found a new way to stay connected to the performing arts community by launching the Showgirl Tip of the Day podcast. The show allows her to reconnect with friends from the industry while offering advice and insight to aspiring performers looking to break into show business.
Michelle also talked about her move to Skowhegan, Maine, where she has been renovating a vintage home while becoming involved in the local arts community. She currently supports the nonprofit Lights Up Productions, which is working to restore the historic Skowhegan Opera House and bring new life to the local performing arts scene.
Reflecting on her career, Michelle emphasized how much the entertainment industry continues to evolve and encouraged young women to stay open to different opportunities along the way. Her advice: pursue your dreams, remain adaptable, and embrace the many paths a creative career can take.
