In an inspiring effort to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Best Buddies Maine is gearing up for its Champion of the Year Gala & Auction on October 25th at Brick South in Portland! I recently had the pleasure of chatting with state director Rebecca and champion candidate Olivia, who shared all the exciting details about this incredible event.
Best Buddies’ mission is to foster one-to-one friendships, provide integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support for people with disabilities throughout the state. This year’s gala is set to celebrate these goals while raising funds to continue the organization’s impact!
The Champion of the Year Gala is not just any event—it’s part of a competitive fundraising campaign that brings together 12 local leaders who are passionate about inclusion. These champions have been working hard, reaching out to their communities to raise money and awareness for Best Buddies. At the gala, the candidate who has raised the most funds will be recognized as the Champion of the Year!
If you or your business is looking for a way to get involved, there’s still time to donate a gift card or become a sponsor. It’s a fantastic way to give back while getting your brand in front of a passionate crowd of supporters! Best Buddies has made it easy to help, whether through donations or purchasing tickets to the gala. Visit bestbuddieschampion.org/Maine or email Maine@BestBuddies.org to join in. Together, we can make a difference and champion inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Maine and beyond!
