Ryan Martin stopped by the Maine Made studios for a conversation with Ryan Deelon ahead of an ambitious new challenge: breaking his third Guinness World Record.
This Friday, Martin will attempt to set a new record for the most made free throws in one hour. The current mark to beat is 2,461 — which breaks down to roughly one successful shot every 1.4 seconds for a full hour. It’s a staggering pace, but Martin is no stranger to pushing boundaries.
He already holds two Guinness World Records:
-
Most three-pointers made in one hour: 1,372
-
Most NBA three-pointers made in one hour: 1,086
Martin’s next record attempt will take place at Lake Region High School at 5 PM this Friday. The event is free and open to the public, with pizza and drinks provided by local sponsors.
While there’s no cost to attend, donations are encouraged and will benefit Frommie’s Fight Foundation and the Pat Moody Foundation.
Whether you’re a basketball fan, a supporter of local causes, or just curious to see a world record attempt up close, don’t miss the chance to witness history in the making.
