The 154th Cumberland County Fair is almost here, and there’s plenty happening throughout the week!
The fair kicks off Sunday with the Grand Parade, featuring livestock-show animals, 4-H floats, antique tractors, and antique automobiles, followed by the Opening Ceremony.
One of the big highlights returns Tuesday and Wednesday nights with the Professional Rodeo at 7pm. You’ll see everything from calf roping and pair roping to bronc riding, bull riding, and barrel racing – and the rodeo is included with your fair admission!
Wednesday is also a big day for 4-H, with the Livestock Auction happening at 4:30pm. After their projects have been shown and judged, 4-H participants can auction steers, lambs, and pigs. Thursday brings restored antique tractors and classic cars to the racetrack. Throughout the fair, you can also catch harness racing, livestock shows, and pulling events featuring oxen, steers, and horses!
There are plenty of attractions for history buffs, too. Heritage Park features a 1930 sawmill, shingle mills, a blacksmith shop, maple syrup facilities, a railroad building with a hand car, outdoor sports exhibits, and hit-and-miss engines.
And then there’s Little Jeffy! This year’s fair features a metal chicken hiding somewhere around the fairgrounds.
