Hollywood’s biggest night for television is officially in the books! The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards took over Los Angeles Monday night, with The Pitt, Widow’s Bay, Pluribus and DTF St. Louis among the biggest winners of the evening.
Hosted by Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay, the 2026 Emmys celebrated another year of huge performances, fan-favorite shows and some seriously memorable moments. And there were a few history-making wins along the way!
The Pitt took home Outstanding Drama Series for the second year in a row, while Noah Wyle won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for the medical drama. Rhea Seehorn took home Outstanding Lead Actress for Pluribus, with Allison Janney winning Supporting Actress for The Diplomat and Tom Pelphrey winning Supporting Actor for Task.
On the comedy side, Apple TV’s Widow’s Bay had a monster night, winning Outstanding Comedy Series along with three acting awards. Matthew Rhys won Lead Actor, Kate O’Flynn won Supporting Actress and Stephen Root won Supporting Actor.
Rhys had an especially big night: he became the first actor to win two lead acting Emmys in the same season, also taking home Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for The Beast in Me.
And yes, Jean Smart did it again! The Hacks star won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for the fifth consecutive time.
Meanwhile, DTF St. Louis won Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, The Traitors took home Outstanding Reality Competition Program and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert won Outstanding Variety Series.
