1. 20-30 people from the neo-Nazi group NSC-131, held a rally in Portland Saturday, ending with a physical altercation between them and counter-protesters. The group was seen using racial slurs, chanting, making Nazi salute gestures, and holding a sign that read: “Defend White Communities.” B. Aull was subjected to and filmed the hate. He told NewsCenterMaine “Over the years there have been times I have experienced something that was uncomfortable… Hearing it sucks and feels terrible, but I am a confident and joyful person and that is something they can only hope to be,” Aull said. He also added “These could be people you work with under those masks… people in positions of power and you don’t know what they have harboring inside them,” Aull said. 2. Starting Saturday people experiencing homelessness in Lewiston were banned from sleeping in places in public. Lewiston police chief the ban was proposed after receiving complaints about safety in the city. He also said officers do not plan to strictly enforce the ban on people who are not a safety concern. 3. Maine Gov. Janet Mills announced Sunday that she has tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time in less than a year. “Other than a scratchy throat, I feel fine,” Mills said. (PH)
4. First lady Jill Biden plans to visit SMCC Wednesday morning. The visit to the state is part of the Biden-Harris administration’s “Investing in America” tour to highlight how President Biden’s economic policies are benefiting Americans across the country. (PH)
5. LSU won their first NCAA women’s basketball national championship on Sunday, defeating Iowa 102-85. Iowa’s superstar Caitlin Clark scored 30 points, but it wasn’t enough to pull the Hawkeyes through. Kim Mulkey became the first women’s coach to win titles at two schools. She won three championships at Baylor. Mulkey also became the first coach to win a title as a player and a coach. Angel Reese of LSU won the Final Four Most Outstanding Player award. San Diego State and UConn face off tonight in the men’s championship game. (ESPN)
