1. Former reality TV show host Donald Trump was arrested, processed, and pleaded not guilty to 34 criminal charges in New York. The next in-person court date is scheduled for December 4th. Trump claimed the case had no merit, calling it an “embarrassment to our country.” (WGME)
2. A Massabesic High School student was arrested after school officials saw video and photos that showed several students handling a weapon on school grounds Monday night. More arrests are expected and the students have been banned from RSU57 property. (PH)
3. Portland has named three finalists for city manager, one of which is the current interim city manager Danielle West. The public is invited to meet the finalists at a community reception at City Hall on April 14. (PH)
4. Maine will receive $62 million to fund essential upgrades to drinking water through the Biden administration’s infrastructure plan. The funding will be used to replace lead service lines. (PH)
5. MaineDOT’s April Fools prank went viral on social media. The department posted a photo of a logo for M.O.O.S.E., the fictional Maine Office of Space Engineers. They said M.O.O.S.E. would be “responsible for regulating and managing space traffic in and out of Maine’s airspace.” (WMTW)
