1. A second week of testimony begins this morning in the case of former Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin, charged with the death of George Floyd. The prosecution called 19 witnesses to the stand last week. This week they’re expected to call more experts to testify, including the Minneapolis Police Chief. (NEWS CENTER)
2. The U.S. tops 30.7 million covid-19 cases with more than 555,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported no new deaths and 295 new cases on Sunday keeping Maine’s death toll at 745 with 73 Mainers currently hospitalized. 22.27% of Mainers have received their final covid vaccine dose. (WMTW)
3. Windham police are investigating after a person was shot near 15 Main Street Sunday night. Police say this was an isolated incident and there is no apparent threat to the general public. (NEWS CENTER)
4. A Portland man is accused of leading Cumberland County Sheriff’s deputies on a 115 mile-per-hour chase Sunday night, before crashing and flipping his car at Exit 53 on I-95 in Falmouth. The suspect was taken to the hospital and now faces several charges. (WMTW)
