1. The Portland International Jetport terminal building was evacuated Sunday afternoon following the discovery of a ‘suspect bag.’ Six flights were impacted as a result. After further examination the bag contained non-explosive camera equipment. (NEWS CENTER)
2. The U.S. tops 29.8 million covid-19 cases with more than 542,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported 1 new death and 172 new cases on Sunday bringing Maine’s death toll to 729 with 71 Mainers currently hospitalized. More than 27% of Mainers have received at least the first dose of a covid-vaccine. (WMTW)
3. Governor Janet Mills announced Friday that people 50 and older will be eligible for shots this Tuesday, and starting April 19, all Mainers 16 and older can get their vaccines. (WGME)
4. Wildfire season has begun in Maine. Many towns said they would not be issuing burn permits until we get some soaking rain. Firefighters also stressed if you do get a permit to burn, you should never leave an outside fire unattended. (WMTW)
