2. The U.S. tops 30 million covid-19 cases with more than 545,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported no new deaths and 199 new cases on Wednesday keeping Maine’s death toll at 731 with 78 Mainers currently hospitalized. Over 228,000 Mainers have received their final COVID-19 vaccine dose, which represents nearly 17% of the population. (WMTW)

4. Gov. Mills announced some updates to the state’s pandemic rules. Effective immediately, buffets and self-service food stations are permitted and bar areas can remain open after the kitchen closes. Overnight camps will also be allowed but are encouraged to implement covid guidelines. (WMTW)

Scarborough native Greg Finley accomplished his dream of making a movie in his home state. “Downeast” the movie filmed in Portland in early 2020 will premiere online Saturday at 1:30 p.m. as part of New Jersey’s Garden State Film Festival.
