1. This week, the percentage of Mainers 12 to 19 years old who have had at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine reached the 50 percent threshold which is the fifth-highest in the nation. Vermont leads the country. (PRESS HERALD)

2. The Portland City Council voted Monday to end the city’s state of emergency but continue outdoor dining until November.

3. Maine Turnpike Authority proposed toll increases to help offset the money they say they lost during the pandemic. Out-of-staters would carry most of the added cost. The increased cost for in-state users would be about 20 cents per trip, on average. (BDN)

4. Canada will reopen its border on Aug. 9 to U.S. citizens who have been fully vaccinated, after 16 months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (BDN)
