2. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection has issued an air quality alert due to smoke from the West Coast wildfires. There are 88 large wildfires burning across the U.S. They have burned more than 1.4 million acres. (WGME)
3. New vaccine rules for Maine students go into effect September 1. Students and their families will no longer be able to refuse required vaccines through “religious or philosophical” exemptions. Medical exemptions are still honored. (NEWS CENTER)
4. The runway at Bangor International Airport was forced to shut down on Saturday after a man ran across it. The man ran across the runway, scaled a fence and disappeared into the woods before he was later found and arrested at Pine Grove Cemetery. (BDN)
