1. Portland police say someone is drugging women in bars in downtown Portland. Police say that multiple reported incidents of drugged drinks have been reported to them this year, but they say the scariest part is that some cases like this go unreported, and they are hoping to change that this year. Portland police say two reported incidents of drinks being tampered with occurred in the past couple weeks. The most recent was in the Old Port Super Bowl weekend. Another reported incident happened at Bubba’s Sulky Lounge off of Portland Street in January. Portland police responded to the heightened concerns by posting a warning on social media Thursday, advising bar patrons to be vigilant and not accept drinks from strangers or leave drinks unattended while they enjoy the city’s nightlife. 2. A proposal making its way through the Maine Statehouse would ban automated robocalls and also make it illegal to disguise an out-of-state number with the 207 area code. Several exceptions to the law would be allowed, including if a robocall involves the “deliver of goods or services,” or includes emergency information from a school district or government entity, like a police department. 3. A public hearing was held at the State House Thursday for a bill that would change Maine’s license plate slogan from “Vacationland” to “Staycationland.” The hearing was quick after the bill’s sponsor, lawmaker Kent Ackley, requested to kill the bill. “It seems with this bill we put the cart before the horse, I’m sure everyone has got a full inbox these days, and so I would ask the committee to make a motion that this ought not to pass,” Ackley said. (WGME)

4. The Portland Sea Dogs announced Thursday they are changing the team name to the Maine Whoopie Pies. But don’t be alarmed because they said it’s just for one fun night on June 21st. Mike Antonellis, the Director of Broadcasting & Media Relations for the Sea Dogs said the name change is in celebration of the official state treat of Maine. 5. Haagen-Dazs has unveiled six alcohol-infused ice cream flavors: Irish Cream Brownie, Rum Tres Leches, Bourbon Vanilla Bean Truffle, Stout Chocolate Pretzel Crunch, Bourbon Praline Pecan, and non-dairy Amaretto Black Cherry Almond Toffee. The flavors have already started rolling out in grocery stores and should be available nationwide by April. In case you’re curious, the alcohol content per serving is just 0.5 percent, which means you won’t get drunk off it. (EliteDaily)
