1. Russian forces kept up their bombardment of the port city of Mariupol on Thursday. More than 1,300 people have died in the 10-day siege of the city.

Both sides agreed to a deal that will increase the league’s minimum pay, provide a fund for high-achieving young players, and a universal designated hitter in both leagues. The league’s expected to play a 162 game season with doubleheaders and a three-day extension in October. The regular season should start on April 7th; players are expected to report for spring training as soon as possible.
