1. Forty-nine people were killed and dozens more injured in mass shootings at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, on Friday. Three men and one woman have been arrested over the attacks. Explosive devices were found in their vehicles. One of the gunmen livestreamed a 17-minute video on Facebook of the attack. All schools in Christchurch are in lockdown and people across the country have been asked to steer clear of mosques. (NBCNews)
2. Medical marijuana could soon be covered by health insurance in Maine. Thursday night’s public hearing in Augusta, about a bill that would require reimbursement for medical marijuana, raised the important question of whether or not it’s more important for patients to have the option of medical marijuana versus whether providers are legally required to pay for it. Susan Collins, joined Senate Democrats Thursday to block the national emergency that President Trump declared so he could build his border wall with Mexico. 5. The planned Sopranos prequel film will hit theaters ahead of awards season on September 25, 2020. The project has been renamed Newark, shortened from The Original Saints of Newark, and is rumored to be set during the Newark riots of July 1967.
