Social media speculated that the documents would include a list of rich and powerful men who were Epstein’s “clients” or “co-conspirators.” There was no such list. 2. The Maine State House was evacuated Wednesday afternoon due to an emailed bomb threat that turned out to be a hoax. Nearly two dozen other states fielded similar bomb hoaxes. The Maine threat was emailed to a person who works at the State House. (PH)
3. Best Buy announced it will cease physical DVD and Blu-Ray sales in-store and online early this year. Best Buy said, “Making this change gives us more space and opportunity to bring customers new and innovative tech.” If you are a DVD purist, Walmart, Amazon, and Target will still carry them. 4. According to a new poll, fewer Americans ages 18-34 now drink alcohol than at any point in the past 22 years. Beer shipments have fallen to their lowest since 1999. Anheuser-Busch led in a decline in beer sales due to a Bud Light boycott. Seltzer and ready-to-drink canned cocktails have also cut into beer profits. (TT)
5. Willis Gibson, a 13-year-old Oklahoma boy beat the original Tetris and reached the game’s kill screen while livestreaming. Vince Clemente, the president of the Classic Tetris World Championship, said that if Willie Gibson’s feat is independently confirmed, he will officially be the first human to ever beat the NES version of Tetris, a feat that had only been accomplished by artificial intelligence.
