2. The Bangor Police Department took to social media Monday to address the Pokémon Go madness, with a little gentle humor. The post reminded people that the game is not “intended to be used while driving” and that if they are walking around Bangor while playing, they should remember to stop before crossing a street. 3. The city of South Portland is inching closer to joining other cities and towns in southern Maine in pushing school start times later. South Portland Superintendent of Schools Ken Kunin is a big supporter of having the high school start later. “We’d like to get high school to start sometime between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., and we’ll see how far it can go,” Kunin, said. “We’ve got to make it work for elementary, middle and high school though.” (WCSH)
4. On Monday morning, Tim Duncan announced that he has decided to go through with his retirement plans after 19 seasons in the NBA. And he did it in just about the most Tim Duncan way possible—by issuing a low-key press release through the Spurs. Since drafting Duncan, the Spurs won five championships and had a .710 winning percentage, which is the best 19-year stretch in NBA history and was the best in all of the NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB over the last 19 years.
