5 Things You Need To Know Ryan Deelon Krissy

1. Tests by the U.S. Geological Survey show that Maine households could be at a higher risk of exposure to harmful levels of lead or other metals, depending on the age of their plumbing systems. The finding highlights the importance of water testing for homeowners, especially those on private wells. In Maine, that’s about half of the total population. (PH)

2. A federal appeals court has rejected quarterback Tom Brady’s latest attempt to overturn his “Deflategate” suspension. Brady’s remaining hope is to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. The Patriots open the season Sept. 11 at Arizona. If Brady is suspended, backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo would take his place. (WMTW)

3. Marcy’s Diner, a popular downtown Portland breakfast spot, reopened Wednesday after a two-week hiatus prompted by the illness of owner Darla Neugebauer. During the closure, notes taped to the door promised customers she’d be back soon. Faithful customers responded with notes of their own tucked into the door wishing her a speedy recovery. The diner made headlines last year after a spat between Neugebauer and the mother of a fussy toddler. (PH)

4. If you’re a Pokemon Go hater and the very mention of the game drives you insane, there might be a solution. Several Google Chrome Extensions (PokeGone & Pokemon No) have popped up promising to hide all Pokemon related content in your browser.

5. Hot Dog Day. This day is meant to celebrate the hot dog in all its different varieties.
