However, the true star of the weekend was a tiny bird that touched down on Sanders’ podium during a rally in Portland, Oregon. The hashtag #BirdieSanders immediately began trending on Twitter. 2. Maine Maple Sunday is held every year for sugar houses to kick off spring and show the public how they make their sugary concoctions. This year, Maple Sunday fell on Easter Sunday. 3. Maine motorists could be in for more eye-popping messages on the license plates of the cars ahead of them thanks to a 2015 law change that loosens the rules on what a vehicle’s plate can display. 4. When Syracuse University typically heads to the Final Four, it’s as a favorite. But not this year. They’ve become the first #10 seed ever to make the Final Four. Joining Syracuse in Houston will be top-seeded North Carolina, as well as #2 seeds Oklahoma and Villanova, respectively. The semifinals will be played on Friday, with the championship game occurring a week from today.
