1. Bernie Sanders won the West Virginia primary on Tuesday night. Sanders, vowed to keep fighting Clinton for the nomination until the national convention in July. He acknowledged in an email to his supporters that his campaign faces “an uphill climb.” However, he stated, “We’re going to stay in the race until the last vote is cast.” (Vox)
2. Three teens have been arrested in connection with vandalism at Bonny Eagle High School. The school was closed Tuesday because of the vandalism. School officials said someone had dumped the contents of the refrigerator in the teachers’ room, smashed vending machines and set off fire extinguishers. Investigators say all three suspects are former Bonny Eagle students. (WMTW)
3. A Massachusetts investment firm has purchased two adjacent apartment communities, Redbank Village and Liberty Commons, in South Portland for a total of $87.5 million. Brokers involved in the deal said it was the highest dollar purchase of its type in southern Maine’s history. (PH)
4. Portland High School is starting a steel drum band as a way to expand its music program beyond band and chorus and to appeal to a wider group of students, thanks to a $5,500 grant from the Grammy Foundation. Tomorrow, the Grammy Foundation award will be formally presented at the school. The presentation will be followed by a concert by school music groups at 6:45 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. (PH)
