1. Lawmakers are considering a bill that would require high schools statewide to start later in the morning. If the bill were to pass, high schools would not be able to start until at least 8:30 a.m. It would go into effect in September 2020.Some cities and towns have already implemented it, but if this bill passed, it would be a statewide change. The public is invited to weigh in on the bill Monday at 1 p.m. in the Cross Building next to the State House. (WGME)

2. Dozens of farms and sugar houses across the state celebrated Maine Maple Sunday yesterday. Merrifield Farm and Sugar Shack says more than four thousand people visited on Sunday. (WGME)

3. Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski said Sunday that he is retiring from the NFL after nine seasons. Gronkowski announced his decision via a post on Instagram, saying that a few months shy of his 30th birthday “it’s time to move forward and move forward with a big smile.” (Press Herald)

4. Customers booking flights with United Airlines now have four gender options to choose from: M (male), F (female), U (undisclosed), X (unspecified). They are the first U.S. carrier to do so. American, Delta, Southwest, and Alaska airlines have all agreed to implement the suggestion. (NY Post)

5. The NCAA men’s basketball tournament’s field of 68 is down to a virtually Cinderella-free Sweet 16, as top-ranked Duke narrowly avoided an upset at the hands of Central Florida on Sunday. Paced by Zion Williamson’s 32 points, Duke hung on for a 77-76 win after Aubrey Dawkins–who also had 32 points–barely missed a tip-in with about two seconds left in the game. (ESPN)
