1. Maine Sen. Collins is suggesting Congress enact legislation similar to Maine’s yellow flag gun law, which allows police, with the approval of a medical professional, to temporarily take guns from people who are in danger of hurting themselves or others.
2. The number of patients with COVID-19 in Maine hospitals declined again Wednesday and has now fallen 23 percent over the past eight days.
3. South Portland says its hotels are at capacity for asylum seekers. This is the second Maine city to say it doesn’t have any more room for this kind of emergency housing. South Portland’s social services staff consists of two and a half employees who are stretched thin.
4. Mainer Patrick Dempsey made an appearance at Hadlock yesterday. He threw out the first pitch at the Sea Dogs game. The first 1,000 fans received a Patrick Dempsey bobblehead.
