1. The mayor of Mariupol said Monday that more than 10,000 civilians have died in the Russian siege of his city, and that the death toll could surpass 20,000. The mayor said about 120,000 civilians are in dire need of food, water, warmth and communications.
2. After declining over the weekend, COVID-19 hospitalizations ticked up Monday to 97 statewide. The daily number of hospitalized patients has stayed relatively steady since mid-March, mostly hovering in the 90s.
3. The U.S. Department of Agriculture says two bald eagles in Maine have tested positive for avian flu. There has never been a case of avian flu in humans in Maine and health officials say the risk to humans is very low.
4. Good news if you’re a student. DoorDash is now offering its DashPass subscription at a discount for those going to school. DashPass for Students will cost $4.99. That’s half of the regular price. DoorDash will offer the new discount to undergrad and grad students at any accredited college or university in the United States.
