1. People are curious to hear what President Trump will say in his State of the Union address tonight. This, while Democrats and Republicans negotiate border security spending in hopes of averting another shutdown by February 15. The address starts at 9pm. (NewsCenterMaine)

2. The Portland City Council on Monday postponed a vote to establish zoning rules for marijuana-related businesses. The postponement came at the request of City Councilor Belinda Ray, who planned to offer two amendments but missed the meeting because of an illness. The council rescheduled the vote for Feb. 20. One amendment would change the setback from 200 feet from property line to property line to 300 feet from a residential property line to a marijuana cultivation, manufacturing and testing facility. The other amendment would allow marijuana retail stores to sell products that do not contain marijuana. That amendment would only allow people 21 and over to enter a marijuana retail store. 3. The pieces are coming together for Westbrook’s Rock Row development. A temporary amphitheatre is scheduled to be complete by May and Market Basket is coming in the fall along with a few smaller stores like Starbucks and The Paper Store. The amphitheater will accommodate about 8,200 people. So far, only the Shinedown concert on June 29 has been scheduled, but more acts are expected to be announced in coming months. (Press Herald)

4. A victory parade to celebrate the New England Patriots’ win of Super Bowl LIII will start at about 11 a.m. today in Boston. The celebratory parade will begin at the Hynes Convention Center. Bigger crowds are expected this year because if the warmer weather. It’s predicted to be 59 and partly cloudy in Boston during the parade. (NewsCenterMaine)

5. A London restaurant called Native has squirrel lasagna on its menu. The restaurant’s chef considers gray squirrel to be “one of the most sustainable proteins you can cook.” He also thinks squirrel is “tasty” and “good for you.”Killing and cooking gray squirrels prevents them from killing red squirrels, whose population is waning.
