  1. Turkey and Syria were hit with a strong 7.8 earthquake on Monday. Multiple aftershocks were measured in the hours that followed, including a huge 7.5 quake. At least 5,000 people were confirmed dead, and thousands more were injured. Rescuers are busy trying to find others who might be trapped under debris. Nearly 3,000 buildings have been damaged.   1. Maine’s weekend freeze has plumbers working around the clock to repair burst pipes.  A sprinkler system broke and flooded parts of Boothbay Region Elementary School.  At Bowdoin College, more than 200 students were evacuated from the 16-story Cole Tower dorms around 2 a.m. Sunday after a sprinkler pipe burst.   1. Federal investigators with the Department of Labor say 86 employees at C Salt Gourmet Market were affected by various labor law violations, including several teenagers under the age of 16. C Salt Gourmet Market has paid more than $50,000 stemming from these violations. (WGME)

An incredibly rare eagle from Eastern Siberia, a Steller’s Eagle has returned to Maine.  Maine Audubon has been keeping track of the bird since Feb. 4, when the eagle was spotted on Route 127 near Georgetown. Police are telling bird watchers to park off the roadway and make sure you are not standing on the road. (WMTW)

5. AMC will soon give you the option to pay more or less depending on where you sit at the movies. Down in front will cost less than sitting in the center. AMC will start the experiment in New York, Chicago, and Kansas City this week. (Variety)
