1. Calls are mounting on Capitol Hill for the Trump administration to end the separation of families at the southern border ahead of a visit from President Donald Trump to discuss legislation. Trump’s meeting late Tuesday afternoon with House Republicans comes at a time when lawmakers in both parties are up in arms over the administration’s “zero tolerance” approach to illegal border crossings. Under the policy, all unlawful crossings are referred for prosecution — a process that moves adults to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service and sends many children to facilities run by the Department of Health and Human Services. Under the previous administration, such families were usually referred for civil deportation proceedings, not requiring separation. 2. As a result of the escalating trade war with China by the Trump Administration, their will be a 25 percent tariff on imported lobster beginning July 6, 2018. That tariff means Chinese importers will have to pay an additional 25 percent for lobsters purchased from the U.S. Maine fishermen are worried their businesses will take a major hit once the tariff on lobsters takes effect. 3. Moviegoers seeing Disney’s “Incredibles 2” might notice some health-related warning signs posted regarding the film, which had the biggest box office opening for an animated movie ever. Over the weekend, several fans who saw the flick posted on Twitter that there were some scenes containing flashing lights that could be concerning for people with photosensitive epilepsy or other photosensitivities.
