1. Gov. Janet Mills reversed LePage’s push for Medicaid work requirements on Tuesday. The work requirement concerned advocates. Arkansas saw nearly 17,000 of the roughly 250,000 people in the program lose coverage between September and November after work requirements were applied to its expansion population, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. In a statement, Mills’ office said her administration will increase the number of Medicaid recipients who participate in work programs. (WGME)
2. Olivia Ambrose, the 23-year-old woman whose disappearance outside a downtown bar Saturday night prompted an intense, citywide search, was found Tuesday in Charlestown, and a man was arrested in connection with her alleged abduction, Boston police said. The suspect, Victor Pena, 38, is facing a charge of kidnapping, and is to be arraigned Wednesday in Charlestown Municipal Court, authorities said. (Boston Globe)
3. Police have charged two teens in Lewiston, after a viral video allegedly showed one of them repeatedly beating a dog. Lewiston police say since Sunday, when that video was first posted, they’ve received dozens of calls and tips, ultimately leading them to Tuesday, when they were able to gather enough evidence to charge an adult and juvenile. 4. NFL security is investigating whether a fan attempted to shine a laser into the face of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady during their AFC championship game victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. Laser pointers are banned at most sporting events because of the potential for distraction and safety reasons. The light can damage the retina in the eye after even a short period of time. 5. Oscar Meyer is looking for a driver for its famous Wienermobile. The chosen “Hotdogger” will get to drive the hot dog-shaped vehicle around the country, making stops along the way. Perks of the job include a company car that’s sure to turn heads. (UPI)
