1. Maine has begun giving preschoolers COVID-19 vaccinations. Tuesday the state began the rollout of vaccines for children 6 months to 5 years old.
2. The Harry E Reed Insurance Agency in Millinocket was one of the many businesses that closed Monday for the federal holiday. They displayed a closed sign on the door that read: “Juneteenth. It’s whatever… We’re closed. Enjoy your fried chicken and collard greens.” A photo of the sign was shared on social media, sparking many negative comments.
3. AAA says 4th of July weekend could break travel records with 42 million Americans traveling 50 miles or more over the holiday. The travel experts say drive times could double the normal length at peak points on Thursday and Friday evenings.
4. Rob Gronkowski is retiring again. The four-time SuperBowl champion had retired from the New England Patriots in 2018. He returned to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. Gronk is 32 years old. He announced the retirement on his IG ending his statement by saying “Cheers to what’s next, maybe sailing the seas 🏴☠️ Arghhhhhh!!”
