1. Gun control advocate and Parkland school shooting survivor David Hogg will be in Maine on Tuesday. He’ll meet with lawmakers in Augusta before a planned visit to Casco Bay High School in Portland to speak with students and the community. The stop in Maine is part of a larger nationwide tour aimed to empower young voters and fight for stricter gun laws. (WGME)
2. Deering High School senior Trejyn Fletcher got the call. The St. Louis Cardinals drafted him in the second round with the 58th pick. The Rams star pitcher and outfielder was selected as a center fielder. The draft slot has a value of about $1.2 million. (WMTW)
3. John Gatchalian, seventh-grader at Biddeford Middle School, is the winner of this year’s “Doodle for Google” contest for the state of Maine.. His doodle will now go up against the winners from other states. The final winner’s drawing will be displayed on Google.com for one day and receive a $30,000 college scholarship, a $50,000 dollar technology package for their school or nonprofit organization and a trip to Google’s headquarters. 4. Jeopardy! champ James Holzhauer’s 32-game winning streak came to an end on Monday. He lost to Chicago librarian Emma Boettcher, who won with a final total of $46,801. Holzhauer finished second place $24,799. Holzhauer collected $2,462,216 in prize money during his impressive run. Holzhauer came close to beating reigning Jeopardy champ Ken Jennings, who won $2,520,700 in 74 straight games back in 2004. (ET)
