1. A gunman killed 19 children and two adults during a shooting on Tuesday at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. The shooter, identified as Salvador Ramos, opened fire at Robb Elementary School. Ramos shot his grandmother before he went to the school. As of Tuesday at 11:00 pm Eastern, she was listed in critical condition. After his attack, Ramos was killed by responding officers. The children killed were in the second, third, and fourth grades. It was the deadliest school shooting in Texas history and is the deadliest elementary school shooting since the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre in Newtown, Connecticut.
2. The man suspected of killing his 22-month-old niece in a triple shooting in Wells appeared in court for the first time on Tuesday. Police say the incident started over a fight over a t-shirt. A judge ordered that he be held without bail.
3. Maine reported a sharp drop in the number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized statewide Tuesday. A total of 184 people were hospitalized Tuesday morning, a one-day drop of 9 percent.
