1. People in Gray held a vigil for Ukraine Wednesday night after their Ash Wednesday service. Parishioners stood outside in the cold to stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine. They sang, they prayed and they shared their hope for peace.
2. Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services is no longer recommending universal masking inside public schools starting March 9. DHHS officials cited reduced school outbreaks and absenteeism as factors in the decision.
3. Holding flags and signs in Kennebunk, hundreds rallied against COVID mandates as a convoy headed from Downeast Maine to Washington, D.C. The convoy wants more mandates rolled back and wants to make sure the White House hears its message.
4. Fitbit is recalling nearly one million smartwatches. Fitbit received over 100 complaints about the battery overheating and nearly 80 incidents where the watch burned its owner, with several second and third-degree burns reported.
