Aly & AJ are on the road for their Places to Run tour, with a stop in Portland at the State Theatre on Thursday, April 2nd!
Ahead of the show, I had the opportunity to speak with them about this current chapter in their career. AJ shared her excitement about returning to tour and experiencing new cities, while also balancing a busy filming schedule, including her role on The White Lotus. Aly reflected on how their music has evolved over time, shaped by personal growth and life experiences, while still maintaining the core of who they are as artists.
Throughout the conversation, both emphasized the strength of their partnership – not only as collaborators, but as sisters. That foundation has allowed them to navigate the shifts of the entertainment industry while continuing to create work that feels authentic to them!
They also acknowledged the 20th anniversary of Cow Belles, sharing appreciation for the fans who have supported them through the years and expressing openness to revisiting that chapter in the future.
As they prepare to take the stage in Portland, Aly & AJ remain focused on connection – both with their audience and within their own creative process.
You can listen to the full interview below, and catch Aly & AJ live at the State Theatre on April 2nd. Those tickets are available here!
