Even though Apple Music hasn’t released the exact streaming numbers, there’s no doubt why Drake clinched the title. His joint project with PARTYNEXTDOOR, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U dropped in February and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and shattered the record for most first-day streams ever for an R&B/Soul album on Apple Music!
Some of the standout tracks from the year: “Nokia” (which was his biggest on Apple Music in 2025) and “Gimme a Hug,” both of which scored top-10 placements on the Billboard Hot 100. Other songs like “What Did I Miss?” and “Which One” (featuring Central Cee) also helped keep the momentum high, fueling anticipation for his next album, reportedly titled Iceman.
Drake wasn’t the only major player this year, though. His longtime rival Kendrick Lamar also made big waves, especially with his hit collaborations. For example, his collab with SZA, “Luther,” ended up as the second most-streamed song of 2025 on Apple Music. First place went to ROSE & Bruno Mars’ “APT.”
