The Detroit artist joined his former protege about half an hour into the show, performing their collaborative track “Patiently Waiting” from the album “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.” Followed by a rendition of their 2009 hit “Crack a Bottle,” sending the capacity crowd into a frenzy.
Sporting a hoodie with a T-shirt featuring 50 Cent’s iconic “Get Rich or Die Tryin'” album cover, Eminem addressed the audience with, “Detroit! Don’t f—ing act like you didn’t know I was going to be here!” He continued by expressing his admiration for 50 Cent: “Detroit, make some noise for one of the best friends that I’ve ever known, 50 Cent! And also, make some noise for Hip Hop’s 50th birthday, y’all … Detroit, I love y’all, man” before exiting the stage.
