On Wednesday night, Jimmy Kimmel did a segment on his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, called “New Lyrics for Old People” where he breaks down rap lyrics for older generations, such as our grandparents!
The late night host had musical guests, Offset and Cardi B, help him with explaining the lyrics behind Offset’s “Clout” featuring his wife, Cardi B.
Offset starts by rapping “straight out the streets to a penthouse/Miami beach/Yayo” and Kimmel goes to explain it means “I came from humble beginnings, but now I own a condominium in Florida,” adding, “Yayo.”
Cardi B is entertained by the segment and is eager for Jimmy Kimmel to translate her featured lines in the song. “Mouth still say what it wants to,” she raps. “Vagina still wet like a fat bitch.” To Kimmel’s best understanding he told the audience that the lyrics mean “I believe in free speech and I am sexually aroused.” But to his surprise, Cardi B corrects him and tells him that “it doesn’t mean that.” But rather the second part of the rap means “big girls have better vaginas than skinny girls” and that’s what Cardi B meant.
