The Golden Globes announced that the ceremony will introduce a Best Podcast category at the 83rd Globes in 2026! “As the world of entertainment continues to evolve, we are excited to recognize new forms of storytelling,” said the Globes’ president, Helen Hoehne, in a press statement.
This will mark the first time podcasts will be recognized during a major film and TV awards show. They typically only get awards in digital-forward awards shows like the Webby Awards, the Ambies, the iHeart Podcast Awards and the Shorty Awards. According to the Globes, the “top 25 podcasts” will qualify for consideration, with a total of six final nominations for the category. Eligibility requirements for those rankings and other details will be announced in the coming weeks. Nominations for the 2026 Globes in all now 27 categories will be announced December 8th!
Nikki Glaser will return to host the 83rd Golden Globes on January 11th, 2026 airing live on CBS and Paramount+ with Showtime 🏆
