Actor Jonathan Majors has been sentenced to a 52-week in-person domestic violence rehabilitation program in connection with his reckless assault conviction of his ex-girlfriend in December. He had faced up to a year in jail on the misdemeanor assault charge. All parties agreed that the penalty was too severe.
In a victim impact statement, Majors’ ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari said, “He’s not sorry. He has not accepted responsibility. He will do this again, and he will hurt other women. He believes he is above the law.” His attorney Priya Chaudhry said, “He’s lost his whole career. This has been the most challenging year of his life.” Following his guilty verdict, he was dropped by Marvel, who had cast him as Kang the Conqueror.
He will go to treatment in Los Angeles and will face jail time if he does not attend. Hopefully the rehabilitation program helps!
